Using Cellular Graph Embeddings in Solving All Pairs Shortest Paths Problems
نویسنده
چکیده
An algorithm is presented for generating a succinct encoding of all pairs shortest path information in an n-vertex directed graph G with O(n) edges. The edges have real-valued costs, but the graph contains no negative cycles. The algorithm runs in O('Y(G)n + ('Y(G) )'log 'Y(G)) time, where 'Y(G) is a topological emhedding measure that we define. The algorithm uses a decomposition of the graph into O(-y(G)) outerplanar subgraphs satisfying certain separator properties, and a linear-time algorithm is presented to find this decomposition.

All Pairs Shortest Paths Algorithms
Given a communication network or a road network one of the most natural algorithmic question is how to determine the shortest path from one point to another. In this paper we deal with one of the most fundamental problems of Graph Theory, the All Pairs Shortest Path (APSP) problem. We study three algorithms namely The FloydWarshall algorithm, APSP via Matrix Multiplication and the Johnson’s alg...
متن کاملSolving Application Oriented Graph Theoretical Problems with DNA Computing
Important features of networks, e.g., length of shortest paths, centrality, are defined in a graph theoretical way. Bipartite graphs are frequently applied, not only in computer science (e.g. PetriNets), but in other sciences as well. They are used to represent various problems, for example, in medicine or in economy. The relations between customers and products can be represented by bipartite ...
متن کاملHammock on Ears Decomposition A Technique for the E cient Parallel Solution of Shortest Paths and Other Problems
We show how to decompose e ciently in parallel any graph into a number of outerplanar subgraphs called hammocks satisfying certain separator properties Our work combines and extends the sequential hammock decomposition technique intro duced by G Frederickson and the parallel ear decomposition technique thus we call it the hammock on ears decomposition We mention that hammock on ears decomposi...
متن کاملAll Pairs Shortest Paths: Randomization and Replacement
We present a survey of results in the field of graph algorithms. We begin with an All Pairs Shortest Path algorithm with some constraints that runs in O(n) by Peres. We continue with a Replacement Paths algorithm by Williams and conclude with a smoothed analysis of a Single Source Shortest Paths algorithm by Banderier. Each of these problems has connections to randomization in graph algorithms.
متن کاملCombining Shortest Paths, Bottleneck Paths and Matrix Multiplication
We provide a formal mathematical definition of the Shortest Paths for All Flows (SP-AF) problem and provide many efficient algorithms. The SP-AF problem combines the well known Shortest Paths (SP) and Bottleneck Paths (BP) problems, and can be solved by utilising matrix multiplication. Thus in our research of the SP-AF problem, we also make a series of contributions to the underlying topics of ...
